Structural Wire Ropes
Structural wire rope cables have played a major role in the
engineering and architecture of many large structures and are widely used on
projects. Using steel cables in the design of such projects has proved more cost
effective than solely using raw materials such as Iron or concrete and is now
very much the preferred choice within the construction and engineering sector.
The most common constructions of wire rope used for structural purposes
are:
Spiral Strand Ropes: The spiral strand ropes are exclusively made with round
wires.
Fully Locked Coil Ropes: The full locked coil ropes also have layers with
z-shaped wires.
